British Airways Expands US Flights: New Booking Opportunities for Travelers

Recently, British Airways announced its new routes to US destinations, attracting travellers with the opportunity to fly out to new routes. European travellers can book new flights to St. Louis and Guernsey in the Channel Islands, with service already starting on April 14th, 2026. St. Louis is a city in Missouri with its operating airport, St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), and Guernsey, which is one of the self-governing British Crown Dependencies in the English Channel, with its operating airport, Guernsey Airport (GCI), have now been added to the list of new destinations of British Airways. As the summer season calls for holiday trips, this step from British Airways is made with a lot of expectation and future strategies.

Usually, British Airways flies to 26 cities in the US, and St. Louis is the 27th one, joining the queue, as the inaugural flight to the "Gateway to the West" landed from London. In a broader comparison, combining this route with others, British Airways will now operate more direct US routes than any other European airline. The fact does not stop there; in a fun context, British Airways has taken this flight expansion to a new level and made it more memorable as their first flight to St. Louis (STL) was operated by an entire crew whose names were Louis, Lewis, or Louise.

Neil Chernoff, the Chief Planning and Strategy Officer of British Airways, said, "It's always a proud moment when we see a new route take to the skies, after months of careful planning." He also added that, "These two new destinations offer our customers even more choice and opportunities to explore, whether that's across the Atlantic to America's Midwest, or a short hop off the coast to the Channel Islands, there's a breadth of options for travellers looking to get away this summer holiday season."

Along with these summer special flights to St. Louis and Guernsey, British Airways also plans to launch seasonal direct flights to Tivat in Montenegro. Since these flights will be scheduled seasonally, the airline chose to start operating them later in the summer and operate three times per week. Tivat is a coastal town situated on the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, a Balkan country best known for its dramatic mountains and medieval villages.
